Meet Our New SMS Summer Office Intern!

Name: Kristin
Hometown: Cincinnati
Age: 21
Major: Strategic Communications

Favorite Color: Orange
Favorite Candy: Sour Patch Kids (the red ones)

One interesting fact about yourself:
I won my school spelling bee every year of grade school until the seventh grade when I lost in the final round to the word ‘knack.’ Who knew there was a k?!

If you could have dinner with one person, alive or dead, who
would it be and why?
I would choose to have dinner with Adam Sandler because he is my favorite actor and comedian. Although his most recent movies are not this best, I love making up silly little jingles and I think we would make a perfect duo.

It is a lazy Sunday, how would you spend your day?
I would spend my lazy Sunday rereading The Hunger Games trilogy. I have read each book twice and I still can’t get enough! Once all of the movies are out, I will spend my lazy Sunday watching them over and over again. Team Gale!!

What is the funniest comment you have heard from a child
while working for SMS?
We were at the pool and the little girl I was babysitting ran up to me and pointed at a girl who had a tattoo on her hip and said, “Oh my gosh Kristin, that girl has a tattoo by her parts!”

When you were a kid growing up, what did you want to be?
When I was a kid growing up, I wanted to be a cashier because I thought the cash register and the scanner were very cool. Instead of playing imaginary games like house, I always played store and made sure I got to be the cashier.

If you were stranded on a desert island, and could pick three
items, what would they be?
The first item I would bring is my blankie because even though I am 21, I still can’t sleep without it. The second item I would bring is my iPod so I have music to listen to. I don’t know what I would do without music! The third thing I would bring is my Hunger Games poster as a source of motivation. If Katniss can make it, so can I!

What is the funniest memory from your childhood babysitter?
My funniest memory from my childhood babysitter is of us playing ‘popcorn’ on her trampoline. My sister and I would sit on the trampoline bundled up holding our knees and Kim, our babysitter, would jump around us and try to pop (unbundle) us. My sister’s facial expressions were always hilarious.

What has been your most memorable experience while
working with SMS?
My most memorable experience while working with SMS is the first time I sat for a family through SMS. I remember being super nervous as I was walking up to the door and even more nervous about asking if I could wash my hands upon my arrival. For some reason I thought that part was going to very awkward, but it wasn’t at all. The sit went great and it made me very excited to be a part of this amazing babysitting agency!
