Meet Jamie!

Name: Jamie Liese
Hometown: Rocky River, Ohio
Age: 22
Major: Nursing, Capital University class of 2014 - I am currently a Registered Nurse at Riverside Methodist Hospital

Favorite Colors:
Pink and purple!

Favorite Candy: all shapes and sizes of Reese's :)

One interesting fact about yourself: For four summers I worked for the largest cheerleading company in the world, Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA), and I got to travel all around Ohio and the Midwest teaching cheer camp to high school and middle schoolers. It was an absolute blast!

If you could have dinner with one person, alive or dead, who would it be and why?
My mom's mother passed away before I was born and I would love the opportunity to meet and hang out with her.

It is a lazy Sunday, how would you spend your day? Go to church by my house, hang out with my roommates and our cats (one is only 2 months old-so tiny!), and later try out a new restaurant in the Short North for dinner.

What is the funniest comment you have heard from a child while working for SMS?
Right after meeting me, one 6 year old boy told me "You're not tall enough to be a grown up!" (I'm 5'0")

When you were a kid growing up, what did you want to be?
A lifeguard! I thought they were all so cool twirling their whistles around and around. I didn't realize then that being a lifeguard was more of a summer job and not necessarily a profession.

If you were stranded  on a desert island and could only bring three items, what would they be?
Lots of fresh water, good books, and an umbrella for shade

What is the funniest memory from your childhood babysitter?
My childhood babysitters were mostly family members. and some of my favorite memories are when my brothers and I would stay at my great-grandmother's and play card games, ride bikes, and jump rope.

What has been your most memorable experience while working with SMS?
I love working with the families and playing with kids but one thing I was not necessarily expecting when I started working for SMS was the great relationship that Amanda has with her clients and her sitters. She goes the extra mile to know the families and provide exceptional service. Also, there are over 200 sitters and since we are independently contracted, we only meet with Amanda occasionally and for community service events, not everyday like some other jobs. And yet she knows all of our names and what's going on in our academics or careers! SMS has impressed me immensely with it's reputation among clients and I am so grateful to continue that reputation when I represent SMS to the families.
