One interesting fact about yourself:
I spent last summer in Southeast Asia!

If you could have dinner with one person, alive or dead, who would it be and
why?
If I could have dinner with one person, I would probably want to have dinner with
David Platt. He is a pastor and author that I respect and I have seen talk and read his
books. I would love to be able to sit down and talk to him.

It is a lazy Sunday, how would you spend your day?
On a lazy Sunday, I would go to church, then go out to eat with my friends afterward.
We would hang out, maybe play a game outside, and end the day watching a movie.

What is the funniest comment you have heard from a child while working for
SMS?
The funniest comment I have heard from a child was when we were playing a game
and when her “pets” were misbehaving she said she had to give them their
“punctuation” instead of punishment.

When you were a kid growing up, what did you want to be?
When I was a kid growing up I wanted to be an author, because I loved to read.

If you were stranded on a desert island, and could pick three items, what would
they be?
If I were stranded on a desert island I would want flint stones to start a fire, rope, and
a knife.

What is the funniest memory from your childhood babysitter?
The funniest memory from my childhood babysitter is when I would push around
my baby doll stroller and wear old cool-whip containers on my head for a hat.

What has been your most memorable experience while working with SMS?
My most memorable experience was babysitting the same child two days in a row because she was really fun and it was nice to get to know her.

Meet our Intern Cassie!

What were you expecting on your first day interning and how was it different?
I was expecting it to be a lot more serious in the office but I was surprised at how much fun we can have in there!

What is your favorite part about interning for SMS?
I love the homemade chicken noodle soup! But I also really enjoy seeing what goes on behind the scenes of just babysitting and how everything works in the office!

What is your favorite quote?
“Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it’s better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring.” – Marilyn Monroe

What is the furthest you have ever been from home?
Denver, Colorado!

What is your TV or movie guilty pleasure?
I love the show Friends! I’ve seen every episode at least once but I still laugh every time I watch it

What are three things that you can’t live without?
My family, my friends, and music

Which would you prefer as a second home: A mountain cabin, beach house or big city condo?
A mountain cabin!

What do you see yourself doing in 10 years?
In ten years, I see myself being married, maybe having kids and hopefully living in Columbus working as a buyer for Victoria’s Secret!

One interesting fact about yourself:

I have lived in 3 different countries. Born in Toronto, CA then moved to Colombia, South America for 5 years and now America.

If you could have dinner with one person, alive or dead, who would it be and why?

It would be my great grandmother, Reba because she died when I was very young and I never got to know her very well.

It is a lazy Sunday, how would you spend your day?

I stay in my pj’s and clean my apartment and do laundry with my music playing loud.

What is the funniest comment you have heard from a child while working for SMS?

I was being introduced to one of the kids who was 3 and his mom told him my name was Madison Carr. He looked up at me in amazement with a big smile on his face and said, “Car? What kind of car? A twuck? I wuv cars!” It was so cute! Kids always think my last name is cool.

When you were a kid growing up, what did you want to be?

Every time I fell and got hurt I would run to our first aid kit and put on gloves to disinfect the cut, put ointment on and patch it up with gauze and tape. It didn’t matter what size the cut was. I thought I wanted to be a pediatric doctor.

If you were stranded on a desert island, and could pick three items, what would they be?

A tent, blanket, and a Jeanie in a bottle so that I could make a wish to get off of the island! ;)

What is the funniest memory from your childhood babysitter?

When my brother took his snake out of the cage and went up behind her with it in his hands. She was terrified of snakes and needless to say, she freaked out.

What has been your most memorable experience while working with SMS?

I have had so many good experiences with SMS because all of the children are so well behaved! My favorite experience was with a young girl who thought that I was a professional cosmetologist even though I told her I was in school. She made me pamper her the entire time I was there. We had a lot I common and it was so much fun to say the least!

Camped out in front of the TV with my friends watching movies.

What is the funniest memory from your childhood babysitter?
Probably me pretending to be asleep until I heard my mom and dad come home.

What has been your most memorable experience while working with SMS?
I would have to say that there are many memorable experiences, but in general my favorite thing is making the kiddos smile. There’s nothing that makes me happier than seeing a child happy. This past summer I babysat for one family in particular consistently for about a month and a half. You really get to know the kids and the families and miss them when the summer ends!
